BANBURY driver Adam Derbyshire will enter unknown racing territory next weekend as he takes part in the second round of the UK VdeV Championship at the Anglesey circuit in north Wales.
The newly refurbished and updated circuit will be a completely new challenge for Spirit Motor Group-backed Derbyshire. However, he is looking forward to the task ahead and believes that he and team-mate Shaun Balfe will be in good shape by the time they head into the three hour-long race on Sunday afternoon.
He said: "As far as I know no one else in the series has raced at the track yet and very few people have been able to test there as there is limited availability, so it should make it pretty even for everyone on the grid.
"The driver combination and how fast both can learn the layout of the track and get up to front running pace is going to be critical and I think that Shaun and I have plenty of experience of doing just that."
At the opening round of the series back in April, Derbyshire was left frustrated by a gearbox issue that called a halt to his race after just a handful of laps.
Derbyshire will take to the circuit on Saturday morning for free practice and qualifying, with the race on Sunday afternoon.
