MOTORISTS heading for London this evening were warned to beware of long delays after a crash on the M40.
The four-vehicle collision happened on the southbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 1A.
It happened shortly after 2pm and police said two people were taken to hospital. One has serious injuries.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "There are long tailbacks at this time with only one lane open. However, all other lanes are expected to reopen shortly once all vehicles involved in the collision have been recovered."
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information is urged to contact Sgt Martin Harper via the 24 hour police enquiry centre on 0845 8 505 505.
