FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze near Bicester after a bonfire spread to a pile of logs.
On Thursday evening, crews from Bicester Fire Station supported by colleagues from Buckinghamshire and a water carrier from Towcester, were called to the incident near Stratton Audley, about 2.5 miles northeast of Bicester.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Although the nights are drawing in and the autumnal weather is upon us, the risks of fires spreading from bonfires and other open fires in gardens and the countryside is very much an issue still.”
Fire services urged people to think twice about having a bonfire. Lighting a bonfire in a garden or a field presents significant risks if it gets out of hand.
