Typical, isn't it?
Yesterday was by far and away the hottest day of the year so far and, yes, we found ourselves talking about hosepipe bans and water shortages.
Thames Water announced the county could run dry unless moves are made towards building a controversial £1bn reservoir near Abingdon.
But the news sure to annoy the hundreds of thousands of Thames Water customers was that restrictions could be in place from 2014 if measures are not taken soon to address the issue.
Thames Water claimed that if the scheme gets the go-ahead, hosepipe bans would become a once-in-20-year experience.
But despite their appeal, the company still needs to convince many of the need to build a reservoir, which would become the biggest in the country.
We get the feeling that a lot of water has to pass under the proverbial bridge before this matter is done and dusted.
