Have other people had trouble with their bus passes?
My granddaughter has a bus pass for herself and a carer, as she has learning difficulties.
With her mum as carer, she had no trouble on the journey to town from Northway Estate on the No 13. Coming back, the driver was very rude and said my granddaughter could have a ticket, but her mum had to pay.
We went into the council offices and were told the pass was right for a person and carer.
The driver was still rude and would not give her mum a ticket.
This also happened on a Stagecoach bus to Templars Square, Cowley.
When I phoned Oxford Bus Company, I was told that they had not been shown the different types of cards issued. It used to be two cards - one for our granddaughter and one for the carer. We are trying to teach our granddaughter to go on the bus - we put her on the bus sometimes and someone else meets her at the other end.
But she has been told by some drivers she has to have a carer with her. I wish the bus companies and council could sort out this terrible mess over the bus passes.
Our granddaughter is now frightened to go on the bus in case she can't get home.
