Elizabeth Wincott, former chairman of the Oxfordshire NHS Mental Healthcare Trust, has died aged 67, after losing her fight against cancer.
Ms Wincott dedicated her life to helping others, working with many charities and organisations over the course of her career.
Educated at Edinburgh University and the London School of Economics, she became a social worker in Malawi and then the US, after moving to New York when her husband, Nick Wincott, studied for a doctorate at Columbia University, in New York.
She later returned to the UK with her sons, Daniel and Ben, following her divorce and moved to Oxford in the mid-1980s. She took on executive roles in both health and social care fields and in 1999 took the mental healthcare trust post, a role she held until 2001.
