Sir - Having spent well over two hours returning home to Oxford from Heathrow's Terminal Four yesterday morning (with everything running "on time", and light traffic), I am left wondering how long it will be before the Oxford Bus Company gains a competitor on its lucrative "Airline" route.
Hitherto, the service has been excellent, but the bizarre new timetable (incorporating Terminal Five, but now omitting Terminal Four) seems calculated to drive travellers away from the buses. I remember when the quoted journey time to the Heathrow Central Bus Station was quoted as 70 minutes. Now the best offering is 100 minutes.
The most galling part of yesterday's journey was a ten-minute wait at Terminal Five, to pick up just one passenger (who boarded within 30 seconds of the bus's arrival).
Of course, the best counsel is to avoid Heathrow whenever possible, but when travelling there is a necessity. I have to say that, to my surprise, the train is starting to look like quite an attractive proposition.
