POLICE today appealed for information after a BMW was stolen from a house in Westland Road, Faringdon.
The thieves managed to gain access to the property by forcing open a rear door and then stole the keys to cars that were parked on the drive.
They tried to steal a black convertible Porsche 911 but it had a flat battery. They did manage to steal a blue BMW 728i.
The burglary happened between 8pm on April 18 and 6am the following day, but details were only released today. The stolen BMW was found on April 22, abandoned just off the Cheltenham Road in Burford.
Det Con Chris Leech said: "I would like to encourage anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area at the time the house was burgled to contact me.
"I am also keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the BMW before it was found last Tuesday."
Anyone with any information should contact Det Con Leech at Abingdon police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you do not want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
