Shears sealed third place in the Oxfordshire Super League, fighting back to beat Shelswell Inn 6-3 away from home.
They got off to the worst possible start with Barry Harris putting the hosts ahead, before Tim Tricker doubled their advantage.
However, Paul Cross recorded a 3-0 win with a 30.67 average to reduce the arrears, before Kevin Barefoot levelled.
Simon Tricker restored the hosts' lead as he took his set 3-1. Martin Turnbull equAlised before Pete Jones put the visitors a set from victory.
Preben Krabben sealed Shears' victory with a 3-0 success, before Dave Exell took the final set.
Shears' win meant White Lion's result at Goodlake was immaterial, despite a 5-4 success.
Lion trio Graham Manning, Steve Skelton and John Fowler raced into a 3-0 lead without dropping a leg.
Kit Young was taken to five legs.
Andy Povey hit back, but Paul King put the match out of Goodlake's reach. Bob Cook, Matty Smith and Les Radford won the final three sets for the hosts.
Three Tuns A thrashed champions Chinnor 7-2 to complete the double over them.
Paul Farnes put Chinnor ahead, only for Pete Newman, Barry Stratford, Steve Foster, Roger Haines, Dave Essex, Ronnie Anderson and Phil Addison to win the next seven for Tuns, before Jon Jukes hit back.
