POLICE carried out surprise checks on pubs across an Oxford estate last night.
Officers visited the Bullnose Morris in Blackbird Leys at about 8.30pm.
Landlady Bridget Harrison-Steele said the operation was one of the police's regular checks on licences and toilets.
She said: "It was just normal police checks that they do. Nothing happened. They come in and it reduces any problems."
Ms Harrison-Steele added she had heard several other pubs in Blackbird Leys had been visited by police about the same time.
No one from Thames Valley Police was available to comment.
