POLICE today appealed for information after a series of burglaries in Faringdon.

On Tuesday, thieves burgled a house in Lansdown Road, by breaking in through a window, and stole a gold necklace, worth about £800.

A house was burgled in London Street between 10am on Friday, April 11, and 11am on Sunday, April 13, where some car keys were stolen.

Between 9.30am and 3.30pm, on Monday, April 14 , thieves attempted to gain access to a house in Fernham Road by causing damage to the rear patio doors.

Det Con Chris Leech, based at Abingdon police station, said: "I suspect that these burglaries could be linked and I'm keen to catch those responsible.

"The thieves seem to be going to the rear of the property and breaking their way in through forcing open a window or patio doors. I would also suggest that as the thieves are stealing items like jewellery and money, there is a chance that they have no access to a vehicle.

"We have had reports of a man with ginger hair knocking on doors in the Faringdon area around the time of the burglaries. I am keen to speak to this man as I feel that he could help me with my investigation "I would urge anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area to contact the police."
