Burford School's Sam Goodchild ruled the waves at the National Schools Match Racing Championships at Queen Mary Sailing Club, near Staines.
Goodchild, an Oxfordshire School Sailing Association member, won the National Schools Sailing Association Trophy with Henry Fletcher, and his team from Magdalen College School, Oxford, finishing runners-up.
Goodchild's success maintained Oxfordshire's stranglehold on the trophy, with the county having won it every time since its inception five years ago.
He now goes on to compete in the Royal Yachting Association Match Racing Competition at Weymouth.
The racing was held in J80 keel boats, supplied by the Royal Yachting Association.
Sailing was to a high standard, with the umpires reporting that the racing was better than the university finals which had been held the previous week - and were also won by a team made up of former Oxfordshire School Sailing Association students.
Goodchild will now go on to compete in the Royal Yachting Association Match Racing Competition at Weymouth.
