A driver died this morning after crashing his car into a hedge on a road south of Oxford, it has now been confirmed.
The crash happened about 7am on the B4015 to Stadhampton, a quarter of a mile from the Golden Balls roundabout near Nuneham Courtenay.
Paramedics, police and firefighters were called to the scene after the single-vehicle accident involving a red Nissan Primera.
Police spokesman Claire Gourlay said: "I can confirm that the male driver, a 61-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries. His car left the road and came to rest in the hedge.
"Police are now waiting for the results of a post mortem. Any drivers who were in the area at the time and have any information should contact Sgt Jack Hawkins at Abingdon traffic base on 08458 505505."
There were also delays on the A415, following a car fire on Ducklington Lane northbound, near the Thorney Leys junction in Witney.
