The Griffin - a mythical creature with the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion - has changed much in the 105 years since Vauxhall first adopted it as a badge.
The new look is due to appear on its vehicles from August onwards.
Vauxhall's name derives from a corruption of the name Fulks Hall, the residence of Fulk Le Breant in Lambeth, London.
Over the years, the house name changed to Fawke's Hall, Fox Hall, and finally Vauxhall. Fulk Le Breant's heraldic emblem was a griffin.
