Publican Damian Cawood has urged Oxfordshire's men and women to get patriotic tomorrow by toasting the spot where St George vanquished the dragon.
The landlord of the Fox and Hounds in High Street, Uffington, said legend had it that England's patron saint defeated the dragon on a hill on to which his pub looks.
He claimed a chalk stain on the hill is said to show where the dragon's blood was spilled, causing no grass to ever grow there since.
To celebrate the legendary battle the landlord has organised Morris dancers and a feast at his pub tomorrow night.
He said: "It is very important to celebrate St George's Day. It is great to celebrate being English - and it is also the start of the summer.
"We should never forget we are still Englishmen."
