Vale of White Horse Under 11s ended their season on a high with a 2-1 win over Hertfordshire side Dacorum in a friendly at Oxford Brookes Westminster Institute of Education.
Owen Shaw latched on to an enormous wind-assisted punt from keeper Eddie Cavanagh before rounding the keeper to netting from an acute angle and give Vale a half-time lead.
Alex Thomas finished off a slick move with a cracking drive to double Vale's advantage in the second half.
Joe Cooke pulled a goal back with a powerful cross shot past Cavanagh, but Vale held on to take victory.
