POLICE today appealed for witnesses following a collision on the M40 near Bicester.
At about 1.40am on Sunday, a black Ford Focus and a silver Ford pick-up truck collided on the M40, a mile from junction 9 on the southbound carriageway.
The Ford Focus hit the central barrier and ended up in the centre of the carriageway in the second lane.
The man driving the pick-up truck was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, with minor injuries.
PC Neil Budd, of the Bicester Roads Policing department, said: "It is possible that there may be a third vehicle involved in the collision which didn't stop at the scene.
"I am appealing for any motorists who may have seen the vehicles involved prior to the collision or anyone who witnessed the collision."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Sharman at Bicester Roads Policing via 0845 8 505 505, or if you do not want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
