OXFAM is calling on knitters to support a campaign to cut down on the number of women who die in pregnancy and childbirth.
The Oxford-based charity is aiming to get 250,000 9in squares knitted by September, which will be joined together to make a giant baby blanket with each square representing a mother who could have been saved.
Completed squares should be sent to Oxfam Campaigns, 47 Park Square East, Leeds, LS21 2NL.
