Cookery writer and presenter Sophie Grigson has opened a new shop in Abingdon which specialises in local produce.
Local Roots, in East St Helen Street, is the brainchild of Sukey and Christopher Jones, pictured with Ms Grigson, and everything it sells comes from within a 30-mile radius of the town.
Mrs Jones said: "It's an entirely new, joined-up and ecological approach to retail. We will be actively supporting Fairtrade and organic goods and we are hoping to reduce packaging and food miles in every way we can."
She added: "We simply wanted to create the sort of shop that we would want to go to ourselves."
As well as food, the shop sells art, cards, sculptures and other goods, such a handbags and babywear.
