Oxford's first all-inclusive football team is at the forefront of creating a tri-county league for people with learning disabilities.
The Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Inclusion (BOBi) League will be set up later this year with the help of the Football Association and local sport partnerships.
The Oxford City Casuals, who have been working to encourage local clubs to form new learning disability teams, held a friendly seven-a-side match against Banbury United this week.
The two teams are old rivals and met at City's Court Place Farm Stadium to limber up for the league later this year.
Colin Taylor, chairman of Oxford City FC and Oxford City Casuals, said: "Monday's match was about getting everyone involved and drawing attention to our plans for the league which we hope will launch later this year.
"We had a team of over 40 actively involved on the night and continually subbed players so everyone got a chance to be involved.
"We had the stronger side so, in the second stage of the match, we mixed our players up with Banbury's. Everyone just had a huge amount of fun."
Player and coach Ashby Hope added: "Our ultimate aim is to get the BOBi league up and running so that we can get some more games in the pipeline."
The team has recently received support from Domino Pizza, in Headington, which is sponsoring its kit in time for the league.
