If anyone is in doubt that the compensation culture is well and truly with us, read the story about the inmate at Bullingdon Prison, near Bicester.
He was awarded £3,807 after his drugs were cut off and he was made to go through detox, breaching his human rights.
He wasn't the only one.
Payments totalling £750,000 went to 197 prisoners forced to stop taking drugs at jails across England.
And, believe it or not, it gets worse. Nationally, 461 inmates were handed more than £2m in compensation in 2006/7, we're told.
Have you ever heard of anything so barmy? It could only happen in soft-touch Britain.
