If there's one thing you can't fault about Po Na Na in Oxford, it's got to be the decor.
Is it North African or Middle Eastern?
I'd probably hedge my bets at it being a fusion of both - one part of me wants to tell you that I felt like I was in a bustling Shisha bar in Tangiers, Morocco.
Another part of me conjures feelings closer to being somewhere in southern Turkey, lying in a beach bar on a sofa that might easily be confused with a bed because it's so close to the floor.
I think that's why I like Po Na Na - it's one of the only places that you can go out in Oxford and successfully fool your brain into thinking you might be abroad on holiday and away from this city, which unfortunately can get rather stressful at times.
I was there on a night called Spreadable and it got lively about an hour after we arrived - a quarter past midnight.
Once this happened, I felt welcome and at home - amongst people that were out to have a laugh, not to cause trouble.
The DJ was playing anything that would get the crowd moving, and this was mainly incredibly pungent cheese.
But on their website, Po Na Na make no secret of this, the night is called Spreadable for goodness sake - and by the time we left I thought I might need a towel to wipe away the thick layer of Dairylea that metaphorically covered my skin.
But by no means am I saying this was a bad thing. It was kind of refreshing after all the dance and indie-electro nights I've attended recently.
But Spreadable is about to change.
It will soon be called Zoo Na Na, and become an incredibly fine indie night to rival any other in Oxford - namely Thursday nights at the Carling Academy!
And it's going to have drinks promotions all night.
So who I ask you, could argue with that?
Not me, that's for sure.
