Sir - I have better things to do with my holiday time than to write letters about a fairly insignificant problem, when one looks at things from a global perspective, but I am intrigued as to how long it will take Tesco to remove a shopping trolley from the pavement on our street.
I have told two separate senior members of their staff, with a third listening in, on two occasions in the last four days that their property has been languishing in the street for over a week now. I was under the impression that some sort of by-law was going to mean that supermarkets had to take responsibility for their abandoned trolleys or get fined.
Yes, I could take it back for them, but I feel that they have a duty of care for the locality in which they trade and therefore have an interest in how long it will eventually take them to collect it.
