Sir - Hazel Blears' comments have again I fear, been misinterpreted. She states that brutal ugly buildings and estates contribute to antisocial behaviour and social exclusion.
Planners and architects are to blame. No matter when the criminal acts and antisocial behaviour took place, these things contributed to it.
Just look at the comments on your own website to see what people make of the area. I understand it must be frustrating to have worked so hard and for people to still have a negative view of the Leys, but there's no smoke without fire. Even a put-out fire smokes for a little while.
Keep up the good work and let's hope that when the Grenoble Road extension is built, the planners and architects get it right.
