Sir - Oh dear, with their complaints about the travelling times allotted to their bus passes, some pensioners are not showing us in a good light, are they?
First, we had Gwynneth Cooke (March 28) moaning about being deprived of a half-hour in the morning, with her pass not operative till 9.30am. We now have R Foster-Jones (April 11) grumbling about having no free travel after 11pm, which he sees as a curfew. Wrong! A curfew would ensure he stays indoors, would it not?
However, nobody is preventing him from going out after 11pm. You are still free to go clubbing late at night if you want to, Mr Foster-Jones, it is just that you will have to pay for the pleasure.
Both of them should count their blessings that they are still fit and able to travel at all, and stop carping about minor restrictions. They don't seem to realise when they are well off. I think the new travel scheme is great.
