POLICE today appealed for help in tracing a man after a schoolgirl was assaulted in Wantage.
A 15-year-old girl was walking home from school on March 17 when she was assaulted by a man.
As she walked down the alleyway just off the Challow Road at around 3.30pm she was aware of a man behind her, he followed her and asked her for kiss. When she said no he then held her arm and attempted to kiss her.
The girl escaped from the man and ran home.
PC Carl Bryant said: "The girl was left very shaken by this incident. We are keen to speak to anyone who may recognise this man as he may be able to help us with our enquiries.
He is white, about 18 years old, about 6ft tall and was wearing a cream-coloured top and jeans."
Anyone with any information about the incident to contact PC Bryant at Wantage police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you do not want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
