Diamond wedding couple Don and Win Royce put their successful marriage down to trusting one another.
The couple, from Margaret Close, Bicester, celebrated their anniversary on Thursday with a family meal at The Littlebury Hotel in King's End.
The pair, who have two children and four grand- children met and grew up together in Quainton, near Bicester.
Mrs Royce, who looked after judge Lord Chief Justice Nicholas Phillips and his sister Andrea when they were babies, said: "We trust each other and that goes a long way."
The couple regularly attend Bicester's Methodist Church, enjoy a game of crib and used to play tennis together.
Mr Royce, 84, said: "We're still together because we've had the same sort of interests over the years and also because we're still breathing!
"Win used to work with my sister Grace in Aylesbury and that's how we got together."
They married at Quainton parish church and honeymooned in Felixstowe.
Daughter Janet and husband Bob Sears, live in Lancaster Close, Bicester, and have three children, Linda, 26, Daniel, 21 and Karl, 20. Son Neville, lives with his wife Glynis, and son Martyn, 17, in Fair Close.
