TEENAGERS from Berinsfield who have helped to build and decorate centres for homeless children and Aids orphans in Kenya will be returning later this year.
Since Operation Noah's Ark (Berinsfield) was formed four years ago, more than 20 young people have visited the Nasio Trust charity's centres at Mumias, in western Kenya, to help the 100 children there.
Co-ordinator PC John Cornelius said: "The main purpose of our visits has been to help prepare the ground before building begins and to decorate before the centres' openings.
"The orphans are the obvious benefactors but all the teenagers from Berinsfield who have visited have also had their lives changed in various ways."
The project started via the Campus Youth Club in the village as part of a way of dealing with increasing anti-social behaviour in the village.
Since then the club and its members have raised thousands of pounds for the project and neighbouring villages like Dorchester have also contributed.
No names have yet been decided for the visit later this year but several teenagers will be involved, some of them returning as instructors for the new group.
The Nasio Trust is a UK-based Christian charity working with orphans in Kenya.
