RETIRED and long serving member of Arncott's Defence and Fire Rescue Service member Edward Sheffield has received a Certificate of Appreciation.
The 65-year-old, who had worked for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service for 31 years and the Defence Fire and Rescue Service, in Arncott, for 28 years, finished his service at the station in Palmer Avenue at the beginning of March.
Six other members of the service were presented with Iraq Campaign Medals by chief fire officer Noel Roberts, from Andover's Defence Fire and Rescue Service at the ceremony.
They included Bicester firefighters Roy Thomas, 56, Martin Morris, 48, Gordon Laird, 58, and Fred Granville, 58, from Abingdon.
