YOUNG film-makers have been nominated for a prestigious award.
A film made by nine and ten-year-old children at St Michael's School, in the Causeway, Steventon, has been put forward for the National Young Film Makers Award, part of Leeds Young People's Film Festival.
The short animated film, called Our Environment is Important, was made for last year's Harvest Festival and looks at possible solutions to environmental damage.
It was awarded four stars by the British International Amateur Film Festival and took first place in the junior competition.
The film also took first place in the youth section and was runner-up in the Southern counties category of the Institute of Amateur Cinematographers 2008 competition.
Mathew Wood, nine, is pictured with members of Ash Class, who made the video in two weeks, with the help of supply teacher Stuart Taylor.
Tissue paper images were scanned and combined using computers to create mini-films which were then linked together.
Deputy headteacher Dawn Clements said: "It was altogether a challenging and enriching experience."
