BRIGHT flowers will catch the eye of the crowds after an Oxford woman won a place at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show in July.
Headington gardener Caroline Duffy is hoping to impress the judges with her small garden design.
Working with her colleague Kari Beardsell, the two have come up with a garden design called the Prism, which will feature rainbows of plants with water and light effects.
Mrs Duffy, who only started her business four years ago, said she was delighted the design had made the cut at their first attempt.
She said: "I'm so excited, nervous, but excited and very proud. As relatively new designers, it gives us more confidence in the work we're doing."
It will take two weeks to construct the garden in the grounds of the palace, west of London. The £45,000 cost will be funded by sponsorship.
The design will promote the work of the Rainbow Trust, which offers respite care to families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
A spokesman for the Royal Horticultural Society said: "It's always fantastic to welcome new gardeners and designers to the show."
The show is open to the public from July 8 to 13.
