Five teenagers have been charged with violent disorder following a street fight in James Street, East Oxford, on Monday.
Haroon Mohammed, 19, of Golden Road, Oxford, and four teenage boys, three aged 17 and one aged 16, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are due to appear at Oxford Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
The charges relate to an incident at the junction of James Street and Cowley Road at about 6pm. The five have been remanded in custody.
High visibility patrols are being stepped up in the area.
Thames Valley Police spokesman Toby Shergold said it was hoped the patrols would reassure the public.
He said officers based in East Oxford would be redeployed to focus their patrols around the James Street area and it would continue "until necessary".
About 15 people were thought to have been involved in the incident.
Two boys, aged 16 and 17, were taken to Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital with facial injuries but were released later the same evening after treatment.
