Firefighters managed to stop a small fire destroying the thatched roof of a home in Uffington this morning.
The fire at a two storey house in Woolstone Road was caused by a faulty lightfitting in the bathroom.
Fire crews were called at 7.40am and the fire had spread to the inside of the roof.
Flames scorched a patch around one meter square of the thatched roof but the blaze was extinguished before it spread any further, said a fire service spokesman.
