About 1,400 homes were left without electricity today after a lorry pulled down high-voltage cables in Ascott-under- Wychwood.
Power was cut off at about 4pm, when the lorry reversed into cables over Tyack's coal yard, alongside the railway station, which caused a transformer to fail.
Southern Electric called engineers to the scene and a temporary repair was made within two hours.
However, the company warned customers there could be interruptions to their power supply before permanent repairs were made.
