I am one of many people who are keen to save Cogges Manor Farm Museum in Witney from closure, and I have offered to give support through fundraising.
Recently, however, I came across a revelation - Cogges Manor Farm is situated on an ancient site of many civilisations and is of equal importance to Stonehenge.
I am proposing a project where this can be highlighted as the main draw for visitors and people offering financial support.
In 20 years of my visits there, this fact of early sites being present has never come to my notice. It is not mentioned in any brochures and there is no reference to it at the museum.
This must change - it is much too precious to continue to be hidden from public knowledge.
So much information can be made available in visual terms.
I feel a central fund should be set up where individuals can make donations to create a new and vibrant centre that will attract many more people who can learn about those who lived there over many centuries.
