BRIAN Langston was named today as Thames Valley Police's new Assistant Chief Constable for Operations.
Mr Langston, 47, has been with the force since 1980.
He will take up his post on Monday and will command the Operations Directorate which includes Quality of Service, Control Rooms and Enquiries Department, Roads Policing and Tactical Support.
Mr Langston has had a 28-year Thames Valley Police career after leaving Wolverhampton to join the force as a PC at Aylesbury in 1980.
