About 700 homes in the Bicester area were hit by a power cut during the early hours today.
Homes in Wendlebury were also affected, together with the traffic lights at junction nine of the M40.
Ross Easton, a spokesman for Southern Electric, said power had been restored to all homes apart from seven, following the power cut at 2am, but the traffic lights were still not working during this morning's rush-hour.
Mr Easton said: "We managed to get power restored for most customers within two hours and our engineers have been on site throughout the night."
