THIEVES stole £10,000 worth of metal from Thame Showground.
The thieves stole a tractor from a nearby farm on Saturday night to Sunday morning and used it to break into the site of the showground. They then stole a Mercedes 7.5-tonne cream lorry, with the registration L154 MCH and put the aluminium marquee poles on the lorry and drove off.
PC Dominique Roffey from Thame police station said: "I would like to appeal to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area or have any information to help the police and come forward. This is a despicable offence and as the theft of metal is increasing across the country, we are working hard to catch those responsible."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Roffey at Thame police station via 0845 8 505 505, or if you don't want to talk to the police or give your name, call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
