East met west for a special Indian-inspired dance and music production put on by more than 150 Oxford schoolchildren.
Pupils at four Headington primary schools worked with South Asian dance company Kala the Arts for three weeks to prepare for the production Spring Wedding, pictured.
The company used hip hop, Bollywood and Indian classical styles to come up with the final performance, which took place at Oxfordshire County Council's centre for music.
St Andrew's Primary School, in London Road, Bayards Hill Primary, in Waynflete Road, Wood Farm Primary in Titup Hall Drive and Windmill Primary, Margaret Road, were involved and family workshops were held at each school.
St Andrew's Primary School teacher Anne Walker said: "It was a really rewarding experience with excellent teaching. The children couldn't contain their enthusiasm.
"They even used their play time to practise their dance routines."
Oliver Rainbird, who was involved in the colourful performance, said: "I liked the Indian dancing because it was fun and it really worked your muscles."
Michael Waine, cabinet member for schools improvement at Oxfordshire County Council, said: "Projects of this nature are an inspiring way of teaching of skills."
