We are at last recognising those who helped us win the Second World War, yet were never recognised for their efforts.
First it was the Land Girls, who worked the land to keep Britain fed.
Now the Bevin Boys, who worked in the pits, are receiving badges to mark their contribution.
It is marvellous that men like 82-year-old Dan Duhig, of Botley, are finally getting recognition.
