The search is on to find Oxfordshire's Village of the Year.
Last year's winning village, Steeple Aston, is now through to the Calor Village of the Year for England Competition and is preparing for a visit from judges next month.
Sixteen villages entered the competition last year. District winners included: Crawley in West Oxfordshire, Islip in Cherwell, Stanford in the Vale in the Vale of the White Horse and Wheatley in South Oxfordshire.
This year, villages will battle it out to be crowned Calor Oxfordshire Village of the Year 2008, in the contest run by Oxfordshire Rural Community Council. Organiser Aimee Evans, said: "We're especially encouraging communities that have not participated in previous years to get involved this year.
"Entering the competition is a great way for communities to celebrate residents working together towards a common goal, and can be extremely beneficial."
