Magdalen College School, Oxford, won the Oxfordshire Under 13 mini hockey tournament at Cokethorpe School, Witney.
In the final of the competition, which comprised school and club sides, they pipped Rover Oxford 1-0 in an epic encounter.
Guy Dixon swept the ball home from a well-worked short corner for the decisive goal.
Solid goalkeeping from Chris Whiteside and determined defending, particularly from Chris Nourse, then kept Rover at bay.
In the semi-finals, Magdalen beat City of Oxford, the club for whom many of the MCS boys play, by the same scoreline.
Magdalen had reached the last four by winning their four group games.
They overwhelmed Bicester Community College and Abingdon School, before edging past Rover 1-0.
Player-of-the-tournament Masahiro Kusunoki then scored a magnificent goal in the 2-1 win over Wallingford.
Now Magdalen go on to represent Oxfordshire in the Southern regional finals.
