HAZEL Bell has been elected the new chairman of the Oxfordshire Police Committee.
She replaces Lord Bill Bradshaw who had been a member of TVPA since 1997. Lord Bradshaw left the role following his resignation as an Oxfordshire county councillor.
Mrs Bell said: "I want to continue to build on the partnerships and communities that are already in place and provide an authority that local people need and deserve."
The Oxfordshire committee is made up of the five local Police Authority members as well as the Oxfordshire BCU Commander, Chief Superintendent Shaun Morley, who updates the committee on the performance of the BCU.
She said: "Having a family focused my mind on doing something to make society and local communities safer."
