Sir - Last Friday, rummaging round the Marston Flyover to the Northern bypass and on the turn off to Islip and up to Elsfield, as part of Oxford Civic's Society's OxClean Spring Clean, on the right of the turn to Islip there is a litter dumping gateway and ditch.
Beyond the gated area there is what might be the remains of an old quarry, the land is lower but dry and it is quite a large wasted space. It occurs to me that this might be a useful site for the OU Library Depot. So that it remains part of the Green Belt, it could be built into the hollow and covered over with grass, similar to the Radcliffe Science Library in front of the Science Museum in Parks Road, which even has an enormous tree growing over it. It is also a convenient distance from the Bodleian.
