THE Cogges Farm Museum, Witney, saved from the immediate threat of closure, comes back to life at the weekend as it opens for a new season.

And, after volunteers gave up their time two weekends ago to give the place a spring clean, it received another boost with a donation of £5,000.

The money has come from the Witney Town Hall Charity, which supports local good causes.

Charity spokesman Clive Knowles said: "The threat to Cogges highlighted it is a much-loved museum and that a way forward needs to be found for the future.

"The amount awarded is to assist with the targeted marketing of the museum in 2008."

The gates open for Easter on Saturday with a range of season ticket reductions. A new children's farm area is also to be launched while on Sunday, there is an Easter Egg Hunt.

advertisement Special activities for the season include Peter Rabbit, a music festival, threshing and harvesting, a range of themed weekends as well as a special Kids Out programme in the school holidays.
