A SHOP worker was groped by a man as she stood outside a supermarket.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was sexually assaulted next to Morrisons supermarket on Swan Close Road in Banbury on Sunday of last week.
At around 3.30pm, a female member of staff was standing at the side of the store, near to the steps that leads up to the park, when she was approached by a group and groped by a man among them.
Pc Mark Personius from Banbury police station said: "I am trying to trace a man who is believed to have witnessed the assault and who was spoken to by staff but did not leave his details. If this is you, please come forward.
"I also want to appeal to anyone else who may have seen something to come forward. This was a serious incident that occurred in broad daylight and near the end of the store's opening times on Sunday so there were quite a few members of the public around.
"The lady involved has been left badly shaken and we want to find the person who did this to her."
Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
