THIS is the hooded face of a robber wanted by police for stealing tens of thousands of pounds from an Oxford bank.

The robber barged into a security guard outside Lloyds TSB bank in Banbury Road in Summertown last Thursday morning at around 10am.

He then grabbed a cash box containing tens of thousands of pounds and fled along Oakthorpe Road and Stratfield Road towards Woodstock Road.

Det Insp Kev Elkins said: "We will not tolerate this type of behaviour and are still working hard to catch this man. I am appealing to anyone who may have seen this man in the area at the time of the robbery."

Police investigating the robbery have also been studying the bank's CCTV footage.

The thief, who police described as black and in his early 20s, had dark stubble and was wearing a black hooded top.

He was also wearing a short-sleeve high-visibility jacket.

This was the second robbery of cash from security staff delivering money to banks in Summertown in the past five months after a raid on the Abbey bank last October.

Anyone who recognises this man's face should contact police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
