A 28-year-old who admitted attacking a man with learning difficulties was jailed for 12 months.

Oxford Crown Court heard Terry Wakeling of Holland Place, Oxford, left his former school friend with a 2cm cut to his eyebrow and stole small change from his jacket after a fight in a nature reserve in Windmill Road.

He had earlier pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and theft.

Judge Charles Elly gave him 12 months' jail for the wounding and a three-month concurrent sentence for the theft.
