Sir - I am astonished that The Oxford Times has over the last weeks given so little space to the serious matter of the closure of post offices across the city and the county, despite protests by communities and by some of our Members of Parliament.
An analysis of the report indicates that neither the city council nor Oxfordshire County Council appear to have taken the opportunity to comment on the proposals - which are of such great community concern.
In this review, for example, the whole of North Oxford has lost its post offices - against the express standards set by the Post Office itself - yet this has been ignored in the recommendations, and it is proposed that communities across the county are to be cut off from an important lifeline.
Surely this is news!
