BBC Radio Oxford boss Steve Taschini has launched an investigation after a broadcaster swore live on air this morning.
Some listeners were stunned by the London-based travel presenter's f-word outburst at about 7.40am.
Breakfast show presenter Phil Kennedy apologised immediately to listeners for the bad language, and Mr Taschini told the Oxford Mail he had already received two calls from sympathetic listeners.
He told the Oxford Mail that he was trying to find out why the travel broadcaster "was late to the item slot".
Last year, BBC Radio Oxford took the decision to replace Oxford-based Mike Knibbs, a former police traffic officer, with travel bulletins provided from London.
